Happy 101

Glenn at Differences with the Same Likenesses has passed along this Happy 101 Sweet Friends award to me! It says "Add kind words; Mix in sweet thoughts; Enjoy good times". The rules are that I have to tell you about ten things that make me happy, and pass it along to an unspecified number of fellow bloggers (though Glenn did nine). I've been going over these two things in my head, and it's not as easy as it sounds, but here goes:

1) I think it could go without saying that my grandsons make me happy, but I'll say it anyway... Garrett and Conner make me happy beyond anything I could have ever dreamed.

2) My daughter, Melody, has been making me happy since the day she was born.

3) My dogs make me happy; in fact, dogs in general make me happy. And cats. And cows and goats.

4) Margueritas, and rum and coke, make me happy.

5) 'Up' and 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' make me happy.

6) Yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Peach cobbler. Real key lime pie. Kit Kat bars. Vanilla ice cream with fudge ripple. (Ok, that's five things, but it can be lumped under desserts.)

7) Dancercising to 'Whatcha Think About That ' by the Pussycat Dolls, and 'Crazy ' by Gnarls Barkley, makes me happy.

8) Watching Conner sleep makes me happy.

9) The dozens of finches at the feeders hanging on my living room window make me happy.

10) Blogging makes me happy for so many reasons.

Ok. This is the really hard part. Not finding other bloggers to give it to, but going back and forth to copy their link! So, in no particular order, I pass this award on to:

Julie at Midlife Job Hunter

Lorna at Bathtime Blogger

Susan at City Gal Moves to Oz Land

Dana at Life is Good

Michele Renee at Must Be A Full Moon

Donna at Mystical Journeys

Wendy at Wisdom of the Moon

Jeanie at Living Consciously

Ethel Mae Potter at The Adventures of Fred and Ethel (even though she already has one)

Dan at d2

Please accept these awards as thanks for the reading enjoyment you have each given me, and for continuing to visit me and contribute your own comments to my posts. It's that back and forth that makes this adventure so much fun.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. It was fun reading these things about you and it will be fun for me to spend some time thinking about the things that make me happy. I think some of our answers will be very much alike.

Thanks so much for the award! I'll have to go check out your other favorite blogs when I get a chance.

And as for my favorite things... in college I once started a list of the little things in life that made me happy. And I quickly filled up 3 pages in a notebook. I was just getting started.

Just from where I'm sitting, here's a few I am reminded of by what I can see...
-Handmade quilts (both of Joey's are on the couch for some reason)
-Orchids that I've managed to keep alive for 5 years
-Big Head Todd & the Monsters (last week Joey and I had listened to one of their cds where Todd sings Boom Boom with John Lee Hooker, love that one)
-Our new, incredibly quiet computer
-My mom (her ashes are in the living room)
-My man and his habit of making breakfast on weekend mornings.
-Child's Pose (my yoga mat is under the window)
-My entire family and the chance to stay connected, even if it is only through the internet and not as much face to face as I'd like.

Love you and hope you have a fantastic day.

I would be in a horrible fix trying to think of 10 things that make me happy. I can get to 3 if I overwork my brain: Joe, Beau and Florida. Is that enough? I used to turn down awards right and left when it was the "fad" to pass them around. But coming from YOU is different.........hey! That makes FOUR things I'm happy about!!!!

Congrats on your award, and thanks so much for thinking of me when you passed it forward... I am so very flattered. :-) And trust me, I won't have any difficulty thinking of 10 things that make me happy... it will be harder to stop at only 10! Because in my world, the positives always outweigh the negatives (in my brain at least). It wasn't always that way, but it is now. Yay!

OH Linda! Thank you so very much!! This is my very first blog award!! I am thrilled!! You definitely deserve it, I really love your blog and your way of writing. Again, we have several things in common as "CRAZY" by Gnarls Barclay is one of my most favorite songs and is on my iPod. I also love yellow cake with chocolate frosting...(very hard to find unless one makes it oneself. Also am a big peach cobbler fan. Thank you so much!!! What a nice Sunday surprise :}

Thank you, Linda, for the award (I love the thought of posting a cupcake on my blog) and I love your happy thoughts...grandchildren, coke, key lime pie, and dancercise--yum! I'm thankful for your blog, and the photos and thoughts and kindness you share. Now, I wish you teach me how to post links, I never get that right on my blog!

Oh, I thank you for thinking of me. I can't think of a better thing to do right now than think of 10 things that make me happy. My journal pages for today will be most full.

Thanks, Linda. I appreciate your gifts. And I'd love to have a rum and coke with you and watch those finches at your feeder.

Linda, thank you for thinking of me and helping to make sure I think of things I love today. My list is much like yours (except for the grandkid part but I already envision that thanks to your words!)
That is way cool about you and your dancersizing!!

Congratulations and thank you, darlin'! As you said, I do already have this award, but I have not yet published my list - I'll get on that soon! Up will also be on mine, and cats and dogs; not sure about goats and cows, though!

Oh I think I'm going to have to indulge in some of that yellow cake with chocolate frosting recipe for happiness - that sounds so good right now.

We have a couple things in common! A love of family and fuzzy mammals. It is always heartwarming when people share a little about themselves.

The winter blues set in yesterday and I spent the evening googling happy things to snap out of it. I lit a candle and counted my blessings. Today is much better. Love your happy things! This came at a good time for me!
