If you haven't been to visit her already for this week's post, jump over to Ethelmae's place to read this story, the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Not only a review of a book about an incredible and true story that you probably heard about in the news, but how this true story touched her own life. She can spin quite a tale, this Ethelmae!
Was a great post. Familiar story for me as I had the pleasure of having the author, Rebecca Skloot, as a teacher at a conference. Seems to be quite a buzz about the book. Long time in the making. Happy for her.
Linda, sweetie, I just don't know what to say! Thank you seems so inadequate, to you amd your readers. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is a story that tells itself, and then, of course, the way my own story tied in with it still blows me away! Things have been quite hectic around here lately, and I've gotten behind in my blog reading, AGAIN. I so identified with your post about meeting Dana; I can just imagine the apprehension - the crack in the windshield, running late, what to say? Oh yeah, I'm with ya! So happy to hear all went well! And the picture is not dorky! (But maybe next time you COULD find some place besides McD's to entertain your guests!) Connor's day looked TOO cute, but that snake has gotta go! Thanks again, Linda!
